Riss Notes keeps your writing the way you left it. Close the window in the middle of a sentence and the sentence is there tomorrow, with the caret still blinking at the end of it. No prompts, no recovery dialogs, no ceremony.

Most editors treat unsaved work as a problem. Here it is the normal state of things, and it survives everything short of deleting the disk.
Quit whenever
Untitled documents, unsaved edits, your panes and every caret position are restored on the next launch, exactly as they were. Restart the machine if you like. The notes do not care.
Files when you want them
Anything can still be saved as an ordinary file with Ctrl+S,
byte for byte, and edited in place. Riss simply refuses to hold your work
hostage until you name it.
Light on its feet
Starts fast, stays out of the way, and works the way a plain text editor should. If you have worn out a copy of Notepad++ you already know how this feels.
